The Creature is Looming

Some fellow coworkers and I have created a character in our free time at work. I have recently just finished animating it and is currently in the process of rendering. Here are some screen-shots until the animation is properly rendered.

AM class 2

UPDATE: Made some changes, thanks for the feedback, keep it coming.

I've decided to give myself assignments and hopefully learn what I can from different challenges I can find on the internet, books, etc... This one is from AM class 2. Just a 180 degree turnaround. Here's where I'm at so far. I would love some feedback.

Blocking for skull thievery

Here's a small preview of what I'm working on right now and I thought I put it on the blog and get some feedback before going into more breakdowns and polishing the animation. It's rough right now because I want to make sure that the emotions are clear and the idea is playing out right before i get to far into animation. One guy makes 3 attempts to get this skull. Each time he fails he gets more frustrated. This is attempt 2... Check back in a day or two for more progress

UPDATE: attempt #1 (blocking as well)is the right video

It's time for some animation!

Here's a run cycle I started about 3 years ago. I wanted to try my hand at a 4 legged creature. So I modeled this dog, rigged him up and started him running. Anyway, I always wanted to go back and tweak a few things here and there with the feet push-offs, the up and down on the body and some of the secondary motion, so I did, and here it is.

Outro Animation for Mediasauce Demo Reel

Bookends for Mediasauce's upcoming demo reel. This was animated in Max. I don't feel like I have the control in 3DS Max as I do in Maya (graph editor,etc..). But I feel it forces me to go outside my comfort zone. I'm pleased with how these came out. My buddy Andy is working on the foley, which I'll post as soon as he finishes. Here is a rough, compressed version of the outro...

Preview of Mediasauce new Studio site

click to go to site with animationsSneak peek of the new site to come. There will be a menu/interface to the right of 'Vibbert'. There are about 4 short idle animations that play at random after so many seconds: Yawn, sneeze, gear spit, and the what's up.

The truth about Kenny Bloggins...Animation Mentor Class 1 Demo

If you are in the business of learning animation, you should know about Animation Mentor
I just finished up class 1 and learned a lot in a small amount of time. The bummer is I will not be going onto class 2 yet, because it is quite expensive. So to keep productive, I started a blog. I really wanted to name it Kenny Bloggins, but reconsidered. Anyway, for the last assignment I had to put together a reel of all of my projects so far, and here it is.
